Excursion 1: The Coves of Maro-Cerro Gordo Natural Park
Just 30–40 minutes sailing from Marina del Este, the Maro-Cerro Gordo Natural Park is home to the most pristine coves on the Costa Tropical. Cantarrijan, Cañuelo and Las Alberquillas are accessible almost exclusively from the sea, which keeps them in exceptional condition. The waters have astonishing clarity and the seabeds are a snorkelling paradise. This is undoubtedly the most popular excursion with our clients and the most recommended for families.
Excursion 2: Nerja and Maro Beach
Nerja is one of the most beautiful villages on the Costa del Sol and its coastline, seen from the sea, is even more impressive. The Balcón de Europa takes on a completely different dimension when you view it from a boat. Maro Beach, named one of the most beautiful in Spain, is perfect for anchoring and coming ashore. Along the way you’ll find breathtaking cliffs, sea caves and an absolutely unspoilt coast that can only be seen from the water.
Excursion 3: Almuñécar and the La Herradura Bay
In the opposite direction, the coast of Almuñécar and La Herradura offers a calmer, family-friendly route. La Herradura Bay is famous among divers for its exceptional underwater scenery, with a great diversity of fish and, at certain times of year, visits from manta rays. The headlands surrounding the bay create typically very calm sea conditions, perfect for young children or those who prefer sheltered waters.
Excursion 4: Sunset at Sea
A completely different experience: heading out in the late afternoon to watch the sun set over the Mediterranean from open water. The Costa Tropical offers some of the most spectacular sunsets in Spain, with the silhouette of the Sierra Nevada in the background when conditions allow. This excursion often includes a platter of local cured meats and cheeses and is the favourite option for special celebrations, anniversaries, or simply ending the day in the most memorable way possible.
